All Recognized Student Organizations MUST represent the campus community in a way that reflects the values that the University of Dayton espouses. This means:
- All student organizations, while on- and off-campus, are responsible for following the Student Standards of Behavior and Code of Conduct.
- The nature of student organizations/groups is such that there is a need to have slight differences in some procedures and consequences to best serve students and the community. In cases of organization/group misconduct, any individuals from the organization/group revealed to have violated a policy can also be charged as individuals. Such action does not remove the organization's/group's responsibility for its members or violations. The Student Conduct System and Code of Conduct applies to all recognized organizations/groups on campus. Student organizations are required to adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by CSI.
Failure to complete outcomes assigned by Community Standards and Civility may result in further outcomes, including potential loss of recognition.
Student Organization Suspension / Expulsion
Organizations subject to suspension or expulsion from the University lose all recognized privileges and status for the duration of the sanction. To maintain the integrity of organizational accountability processes:
- Prohibition of Replacement Groups: New student organization applications will not be approved if the proposed group shares a fundamentally similar mission, purpose, or scope of activity with a currently suspended or expelled organization during the sanction period.
- Membership Restrictions: New organization requests that feature a fundamentally similar core leadership or membership structure to a suspended or expelled group will not be approved.
