Student-Led Bands & Live Performers
The University of Dayton student community has a vibrant, student-driven culture of live music, including student-led bands, DJs, and live performers.
The Band and Live Performer Recognition process serves to champion student talent by focusing on leadership and community responsibility. This process proactively equips student musicians and DJs with the risk management skills, safety protocols, and crowd control strategies needed to host successful events, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for both the performers and their peers.
Procedures for band & performer recognition will be available prior to the start of the 2026-27 academic year.
Student Organization Events
Organizations hosting student-led bands and/or live performers must ensure the performers have completed the recognition process prior to booking.
If the performance is being sponsored or hosted by a Recognized Student Organization (RSO), the RSO must also submit a separate event registration within 1850.
Attend the Risk-Management Meeting: The band/performer must schedule and attend a mandatory risk-management meeting with CSI staff to review crowd control, sound expectations, and safety logistics. For events sponsored by an RSO, the designated RSO delegate must also attend this meeting alongside the performer.
