Taking place in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada, the Canadian International Rover Challenge is an intercollegiate competition that tests the upper limits of our rover. Consisting of 5 tasks, this 4-day event allows our members' ingenuity to shine, meet other teams, and see how each team's ideas manifest themselves uniquely. The UDMRT has attended CIRC twice thus far, and are hoping to return again in the 2026 season.
In Hanksville, Utah, USA, the University Rover Challenge allows university robotics teams to compete in 4 unique tasks to test the robustness of their system. Our members have the most opportunity to grow at competition, and while we have never attended URC, we hope to change that in the near future.
