I am running for SGA because I want to lead by example and foster a connected and involved culture within my class. I want to make sure my classmates feel heard, supported, and at home as part of the UD community.
As a representative, I hope bring their ideas and concerns of my peers forward, and create opportunities for people to learn how to get involved and make the most of their college experience.
My experiences in high school have given me a strong foundation to help me be successful. As president of my environmental club, I gained experience in leading and project planning. As a section leader in band, I learned how to collaborate and support others. I was also a member of student council, where I gained experience listening to and brainstorming with my classmates.
I am a part of the business school honors cohort and looking to become more involved in campus over the next semester.
I am running for SGA because I want to help create a better environment for my classmates. I want to be a leader for everyone and make sure that everyone's needs are fit.
One thing that I would want to expand on for the student body here is better dietary options. I would want students have better and healthier options, and more options to choose from so it isn't has limited.
I was a student council representative in high school for 3 years, and I was the executive board president my senior year. I was a captain for my varsity volleyball team and club volleyball team. Back home I attended a trade school and there I was a student ambassador and a student leader for my class. I was also apart of first ring student leadership institute. This was program that taught teens how to become a strong leader.
I am not involved in anything yet. But I am hoping to join a sorority in the spring and get more involved with other clubs.
I have always loved being involved in SGA and advocating on behalf of the student body! I believe SGA members play a vital role in improving student life and resources.
I am hoping to foster an environment at this school that improves student life.
I have been in STUCO in high school alongside many other leadership activities.
I am in Model United Nations.
The reason I am running for First-Year Class Representative in SGA is because of the impact I was able to make within my own high school and community during my four years in student council. I enjoyed being a part of student council for many reasons, and I believe that I can make an even larger impact at the University of Dayton. I can add value to SGA because of my ability to connect with everyone I meet. Not only do I see SGA as a great opportunity to meet new people and get involved on campus, but also to lift the voices of all students.
My platform is all about engagement. I want to raise money for community service events in and around campus, as well as advocating for my fellow students on issues surrounding student resources and wellbeing. As a representative, what I want to accomplish most is continuing to strengthen the community of Dayton's student body.
I have a multitude of experiences that will guarantee my success in this role. The experience that applies most directly to SGA is my four years on the executive board of my high school student council. In this organization, I played a crucial role in fundraising for both my school and charities in my area, coordinating school events like homecoming and spirit weeks, and communicating with my fellow members and the student body. Also, I have competed at the state and national level for speech and debate. This experience improved my public speaking skills and prepared me to advocate for issues that are important to me. Finally, the time I spent working two jobs throughout high school improved my ability to manage my various commitments and still devote 100% of my effort in different areas of my life. Although we all have busy schedules and difficult coursework, you can be assured that I can time manage and work hard to advocate for my fellow students within SGA.
I am currently a student in the University Honors Program, as well as being a student in the CORE program. I also plan on joining Model UN this semester.
I am running for SGA to help people receive the support they deserve, and be the representative that listens to their concerns as well as an advocate for those concerns.
I'm hoping to get more programs and events out to help the students I represent. My goal is to be the place where they can find solutions to their matters of interest; as well as help guide those with multi-ethnic backgrounds through life at the University of Dayton.
I was the president of my high school latino student union club, where I would be the head speaker for my club and was the main place where people with similar back grounds to get to know each other.
As a freshman I'm still looking for clubs I want to get involved in like future women in law
I am running for SGA class representative to ensure that the class of 2030 has their voices heard and concerns addressed. Students speak about the mailing services and the long wait times they face, alongside the bathroom conditions. Concerns like these should be addressed and handled and when elected, I'll make sure to ensure students are satisfied.
I want to make sure that the university actually listens to what the freshmen class need. Whether it be installing water bottle refill stations on each floor, improving the smell from the dorms and continuing to improve the food quality and quantity offered in the dining halls. Overall to ensure that the academic environment and food quality satisfies the UD's needs.
I was a part of the Illinois State Board of Education's Student Advisory Council, 1 of 20 high school students from across the state. Participating in monthly meetings to continue improving and addressing concerns in the state's public education. Developing policy recommendations and collaborating with policymakers, alongside presenting to the State Board of Education. I also student interned at my local elementary school in which I completed over 300 hours in observation, planning, grading and fostering an educational and energetic environment. I was the President of the student government club, previously in my high school.
