In addition to Primary Recruitment, UD Panhellenic also has an informal recruitment process known as Continuous Open Bidding. Continuous Open Bidding (COB) begins after the conclusion of Primary Recruitment and continues throughout the academic year. COB is recommended for anyone who chooses not to participate in Primary Recruitment or did not match to a chapter during Primary Recruitment. COB offers women the opportunity to participate in Greek life and join a sorority through a casual recruitment process.

Participating sororities will contact Potential New Members (PNMs) by phone, email, or personal visit to invite them to attend their membership activities. Membership recruitment activities might include coffee dates, open houses, or one on one chats. Keep in mind, interested women will not hear from all the sororities or need to engage with all sororities. Some chapters fill their pledge quota during Primary Recruitment and are not eligible to participate in Continuous Open Bidding; the COB process is mostly self led, but for guidance, contact us via Instagram DMs or email panhellenic@udayton.edu

The COB process is open to any woman who is a full time student at the University of Dayton and has not signed a Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA) to match to a chapter during Primary Recruitment that school year. For example, if a student has signed the MRABA and matched to a chapter during 2022 Primary Recruitment, they are not eligible to participate in any Panhellenic recruitment processes at the University of Dayton until 2023 Primary Recruitment. For example, you are not eligible if you participated in Spring 2023 Primary Recruitment, or have been initiated into a chapter.
