When is recruitment?

2024 Primary Recruitment will be held from Thursday, January 25th-Sunday, January 28th. Bid Night will be held on Monday, January 29th.

What is a PNM?

PNM stands for potential new member. This is any person who is going through the recruitment process to join a Panhellenic chapter.

If I participate in recruitment, am I obligated to join a chapter?

No, many women choose to go through recruitment to meet people and make new friends. Recruitment is an opportunity for you to visit the chapters, get a glimpse of Panhellenic life, and assess whether or not you would like to be a part of the UD Panhellenic Community.

Does participation in Primary Recruitment guarantee a bid for membership?

No. Although a majority of the women participating in Primary Recruitment are invited to join a chapter at the end of recruitment, it is possible to go through recruitment and not pledge a sorority.

What does it mean when someone is released from recruitment?

Although it is a very rare situation, it it possible to be released from recruitment. "Released from Recruitment" means a PNM has not been asked to return to any of the chapters for the next round of the process. a member of the recruitment team will notify the released woman as soon as possible and will discuss her options moving forward.

Are there options for someone who has been released?

There are still opportunities for women to join chapters after primary recruitment is over. Some chapters are eligible to participate in a process called Continuous Open Bidding (COB). Not all chapters are eligible for COB and, it is never a guarantee.

What should I wear?

Are there requirements to participate in recruitment?

Yes. The GPA requirement to participate in primary recruitment and informal recruitment is a 2.25 GPA. You must have 12 credit hours completed, be in good standing with the University of Dayton, and complete the hazing prevention module in order to participate in recruitment.

What are the financial obligations?

Financial obligations vary by chapter. the range for new member dues is approximately between $300 and $1,065. The range for initiated member dues is approximately between $300 and $500 each semester. More information about specific financial obligations is outlined per chapter in the recruitment guidebook distributed at Orientation.

If I decide not to participate in recruitment, is my registration fee refundable?

No. Unfortunately, all registration fees are nonrefundable-- no exceptions. This is clearly stated on the recruitment registration payment link, so before you register for recruitment, please take this into consideration.

What if I received a bid during recruitment and have since decided to decline it?

If at the conclusion of Primary Recruitment a PNM receives a bid to a chapter that she listed on her MRABA and later decides to declines it, she is still bound to the chapter for one year or until the next primary recruitment period, meaning she cannot participate in COB and/or accept a bid for membership to another NPC sorority.

What should I expect to receive after registering for Recruitment?

Once completing registration, you will receive a confirmation email. The 2024 Sorority Recruitment Guide will be available online under "Recruitment Resources" in December.
