Introduction to the University of Dayton:

As a Catholic, Marianist university, we educate for service, justice and peace. We readily adapt and change with the times. We build communities of faith and educate in a family spirit. And above all, we provide an integral, high-quality education on a campus that's known for its hospitality and inclusiveness.

Emergency Response Policy:

The University of Dayton has developed an Emergency Response Plan to effectively manage emergencies impacting our community. The plan utilizes an all-hazards approach to mitigating, responding to, and recovering from a critical incident.

University Resources:

Housing and Residence Life (HRL)Community living is an essential learning experience at UD. HRL creates quality learning and living communities through an intentional residential curriculum, a developmental housing experience and an emphasis on mission-driven learning outcomes.

Within a variety of residential facilities, ranging from a 900-person traditional residence hall to our growing 400-home student neighborhood, the University of Dayton empowers students to reach their full potential. In these communities, students have opportunities to learn, live, grow, lead and serve.

Community living at the University of Dayton offers students a unique opportunity to integrate their curricular learning within a rich living environment. Students will experience a challenging and supportive campus climate enriched by dialogue that cultivates quality relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds. Living communities also guide students in their self-discovery and purpose, and prepare students for a lifetime of learning and service.

  • Housing Contract
  • AVIATE stands for "A Vision for Integrated, Applied, and Transformative Education." AVIATE is the integration of the department’s Residential Curriculum and the Housing Assignments Process for returning students. As students engage in Campus Partner Opportunities aligned with AVIATE or events facilitated by Housing and Residence Life, they are awarded PATH ("Points Accumulated Toward Housing"). Students’ PATH impact their housing selection each year. The more invested a student is as an engaged member of the residential community, the better their priority is in the Housing Assignments Process.
  • Questions? We encourage you to utilize the Front DeskThere are multiple staff available to answer questions and provide support within the residential community. Each living area houses a front desk that is operational for the hours listed below. You can stop by the desk to ask questions, pick up packages, remedy a lockout, borrow a vacuum cleaner or talk with a staff member.

Dining Services - UD Dining Services proudly supports the institution's commitment to healthy living, serving a variety of locally grown and sourced, as well as fair trade, products throughout campus dining facilities. Health and Wellness - As a Catholic, Marianist institution, our educational philosophy addresses the needs of the whole person: mind, body and spirit. The division of Student Development ensures that you have the opportunities and support to thrive in each of these areas. Campus life offers a multitude of experiences that can enhance and enrich your academic studies and your life. Living in a community, joining a campus organization or taking steps to ensure your health and well-being are just some of the ways that you can shape your undergraduate journey to reflect your needs and aspirations. With services like health care, career and personal counseling, wellness opportunities, housing and residence life, leadership programs and student life, we take care of the details so you can explore the world around you with confidence — and achieve your intellectual, personal and professional goals. To protect the health of everyone on campus, the university requires all students to provide immunization information and complete the Tuberculosis (TB) screening questionnaire.

The form to fulfill this requirement is available on Porches or the English version can be downloaded here (Arabic, Chinese, Spanish versions). Information must be verified by a physician, and must be submitted by June 7 for students starting Fall terms, and January 1 for Spring terms.

Students can upload forms, enter health immunization requirements, medical history, and scan insurance cards through myhealth.udayton.edu.

Immigration Policies and ProceduresThe Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) supports the success of international students and scholars through immigration advising, advocacy, and social and cultural programs connecting them with the UD community. Visit an ISSS advisor with questions about how your study, employment and travel plans relate to your immigration status. We also help students understand the university system and culture in the United States.

To see an ISSS advisor, make an appointment or visit during walk-in hours, Monday through Friday, from 1:30 - 2:30 PM.

ISSS is located at the Center for International Programs, Rike Center 204. Email us at isss@udayton.edu or call us at 937-229-2748. Office Hours are Monday—Friday, 8:30 - 4:30 PM.

These are the key points to remember to maintain your legal immigration status as an international student in the United States. Click the links below to find answers to other specific questions about your immigration requirements.
