We are excited to have you sign up as a Red Cross volunteer and become a Red Cross Club member.
These are the 5 steps you can take today to become a Red Cross volunteer! This process once complete enables you to select opportunities that are of interest to you in addition to supporting activities on campus and receiving free First Aid, CPR & AED certifcation.
1. Submit your online application on Volunteer Connection - https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=rco_opportunity_detail&opportunity_id=48228.
This will create your online profile in Volunteer Connection, our online database
The application will take less than 10 minutes to complete
Within minutes of submitting your online application, you will receive an email that will provide a hyperlink to Volunteer Connection
2. Activate your account on Volunteer Connection
Click on the hyperlink to get started and activate your account on Volunteer Connection.
In Volunteer Connection your will need to:
Update your profile - complete the personal information tab. Confirm your contact information and fill out some basic statistical information.
Tell us what you are interested in by filling out the Volunteer Interest form.
3. Read and agree to the Red Cross policies
You will need to read and agree to 3 statements:
Confidential Information And Intellectual Property Agreement
Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
You will need to click to agree to each policy.
If you are under 18 you will need to print these forms and get have your parent or guardian’s signature. Make sure you return these forms to the region. (insert email address you would like them to send the two forms to)
4. Initiate your background check (if you are 18 years or older)
With just a few clicks you can initiate your background check in Volunteer Connection.
We require all volunteers (ages 18 and over) to get background checks. It helps keep our clients and our volunteers safe!
It’s fast, simple and safe.
5. Register for an orientation session (online or in-person)
If you are taking an online orientation, you can do it immediately. The modules are available online and take about 45-60 minutes to review.
If you are attending an in-person, you can sign up on Volunteer Connection for the next orientation session in your area.
