AVIATE Alignment: AUTHORSHIP

The Hanley Sustainability Institute and Green Energy Ohio invite you to join UD students, staff and faculty, and greater Dayton community members and environmental leaders for a movie screening of the climate documentary, The Human Element.  Please click here to see movie info and trailer:

We’ll dialogue about how the film challenges each of us to work together to address climate change and conserve energy in the greater Dayton community and in our world.   What are practical steps we can take?  What are the best ways to communicate our concerns?

Movie Synopsis:  We humans are a force of nature. At the same time human activities alter the basic elements of life –earth, air, water, and fire – those elements change human life in turn.  In this riveting and visually rich drama blending art and science, we follow renowned environmental photographer James Balog as he explores wildfires, hurricanes, sea level rise, a struggling coal mining community, and our changing air supply. With rare compassion and heart, THE HUMAN ELEMENT highlights Americans on the front lines of climate change, inspiring us to re-evaluate our relationship with the natural world.

Prior to the event there will be optional networking and refreshments serve from 6:30pm-7pm. The movie will start promptly at 7pm. Registration by November 5th is encouraged, to aid in the planning, but not required. Please click here to register.

PLEASE NOTE: Space may be limited and admission is not guaranteed. Seats may not be reserved for others as it is first-come-first-serve and all participants are asked to wait outside of the room in an orderly and respectful fashion until a facilitator is present and ready for individuals to begin being seated. PATH credit will only be issued to those who remain for the duration of the event and participate in the table conversation.
