About Us

The University of Dayton Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Student Chapter is one of many SHPE chapters within Region 6. We strive to empower all of our members to not only realize their full potential as Hispanic and minority students, but to use this realization and excel both in their academic and professional careers with all STEM fields. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math are high demanding fields that are in need of outstanding individuals with the confidence and capability to carry out intensive work ethic and performance. As a professional organization, we will do our best to exemplify these qualities and encourage every new member to come, to do the same.

Members Benefits

Access to more than $300,000 in scholarship offerings. Internship, fellowship, and co-op opportunities. Exclusive access to the SHPE Career Center. Tips for resumé writing and interviewing. Undergraduate membership is open to all college students studying science, technology, engineering, or math. $10 for undergraduates, $15 for graduate students.

Events & Activities

We tend to lean closer to professional development, but that does not mean we do not practice Familia! There are still game nights, study tables with food, potlucks, etc.. to be a part of!

Exclusive Resources

Only members who pay the official membership get access to the SHPE Annual Nationals/Regional conferences.

SHPE is well connected with various industries and alumni, so is a great way to get a head start on networking. As well as gaining upperclassmen as a resource.
