ABOUT US

Purpose

The purpose of this auxiliary group shall be to support and enhance the residential experience at the University of Dayton.

Objectives

Guided by the University of Dayton's Catholic and Marianist traditions, we will achieve this purpose by:

Serving as a forum for the concerns, issues, and voices of the residents to campus stakeholders

Being the governing body and voice of residential students

Advocating on behalf of residents to administration, Student Government Association (SGA), and other student and community organizations as an initiator and supporter of change

Creating programs and engagement opportunities that foster community among and within the residential areas

Providing opportunities for students to explore and develop their personal and professional leadership philosophies

Encouraging and assisting the development of a healthy community that promotes diversity, student involvement, and leadership

Supporting, funding, and fostering the growth of Area Councils

Members Benefits

Being on RHA allows you to make a direct impact on the experience of our students living on campus. You have the ability to advocate for students' voices that are not always at the table and work to create real change and sense of community on our campus. RHA executive board members also help to build community by fostering relationships among the various area councils that help to develop the entire community. Like most activities, you will get out of this role what you put in. Know that you are making an impact both on the students you advocate for and work with as well as the greater Housing and Residence Life community. Being an RHA member is also a ton of fun!
