It is the mission of Middle Ground to encourage people to voice their concerns and to raise awareness to overlooked elements of our society and world. We align ourselves with Jubilee Media's mission statement of "creat[ing] a movement of changemakers for human good....that bridge people together, challenge conventional thinking, and inspire love."
By participating in our organization, members have the opportunity to share their thoughts on important current events. Middle Ground is a great space for people to come and share what is on their minds in regard to specific topics, without feeling like others will judge them or debate with them. It is an outlet for dissecting topics by venturing deeper than casual, typical conversations across campus. Such conversations also hone active listening skills and open participants' eyes to new ideas, problems, and solutions. Being a member of Middle Ground offers both members and officers the space to reflect on our culture in a positive way, fostering community and growing stronger in our understanding of society.
