AVIATE Alignment: AUTHORSHIP

Please join us as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the PhD Religious Studies program by welcoming Dr. Kathleen Sprows Cummings, Director, Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism and Professor, Department of American Studies and Department of History at the University of Notre Dame. Sprows Cummings teaches classes on the history of women, Catholicism, sanctity, and American religion. In addition to directing the Cushwa Center, Cummings presently oversees the History of Women Religious, an academic organization devoted to the historical study of Catholic sisters. She often serves as a media commentator on contemporary events in the Church. Cummings appeared on NBC’s live coverage of the conclave in March 2013, the canonization of Popes John Paul II and John XXIII in April 2014, and the papal visit to the United States in September 2015. She is frequently quoted in the New York Times and other media outlets on Catholic subjects

PLEASE NOTE: Space may be limited and admission is not guaranteed. Seats may not be reserved for others as it is first-come-first-serve and all participants are asked to wait outside of the room in an orderly and respectful fashion until a facilitator is present and ready for individuals to begin being seated. PATH credit will only be issued to those who remain for the duration of the event.
