Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month with us by learning hula!

AAPI Heritage Month is celebrated in the U.S. during the month of May, and recognizes Asian American and Pacific Islander culture. Pacific Islander culture (e.g., Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia) is often overlooked, as Southeast Asian culture is highly prominent in mass media.

Hula is a form of dance traditionally known to be practiced by Hawaiians, but other Asian and Pacific Islander cultures perform Hula dancing as well. At this event, we will learn about Hula dancing, as a Hula instructor, Olohana Strong, will teach students how to Hula dance.
