BATU Receives UD Inclusivity Award
On April 13th, 2018 BATU received the Inclusivity Award From the University of Dayton for its initiative in uniting students, administration, and student organizations towards progressive change in the community.
Over the past years, BATU has stood as a hallmark organization on the campus of University Of Dayton through consistent advocacy for change, service towards marginalized groups, pushing for Inclusive campus programming, and representing Black Students in all endeavors. Through these works, the organization has also had the opportunity to celebrate its accomplishments through its acknowledgement from the University of Dayton.
BATU embraces highlighting Black Students on campus during the annual Black Excellence Ball by gifting a list of Awards to BATU members that have represented exemplary qualities of dedication, talent, service, and leadership.

BATU Celebrates its 50th Year as a student organization, and kickoff the Ball with an Award Ceremony/Program for outstanding black students on campus.

At the 2019 ASALH Conference in Charleston, SC, 2019-20 BATU Historian Maleah Wells constructed a presentation regarding the disparity between black students at Historical Black College Universities and Predominately White Institutions. She collected panelist from the BATU Executive Board, and brought in the First Executive Director For Inclusive Excellence Education and Professional Development Tiffany Taylor Smith, to represent the University of Dayton at the Conference.
