Dear MEP Community, 

      Hopefully, you are having a productive semester thus far as the end of classes soon approaches. Additionally, be sure to review your academic standing in each class since the last day to drop classes with a "W" is Monday, November 11th. Please take the time to check out other important updates in the MEP community that could benefit your growth as an aspiring engineer. 

Engineers Foundation of Ohio Scholarships

Engineers Foundation of Ohio (EFO) scholarships are offered to outstanding high school and college students throughout Ohio who desire careers in engineering.

The scholarships are sponsored by EFO in conjunction with the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE-Ohio) and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).

* This year EFO has more than $33,000 in scholarships available. *  

To obtain the current Engineers Foundation of Ohio Scholarship Brochure and Application please visit: www.ohioengineer.comClick on "Students & Educators," then on "Programs for Students," and finally on "Scholarships." Students should review the brochure and complete their applications. 

To be eligible to apply for these scholarships, a student must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a graduating high school senior (exceptions noted in individual scholarship descriptions);
  • Have at least a 3.0 (A=4.0) grade point average;
  • Meet the minimum SAT (Math=600, Reading or Composition=500) or ACT (Math=29, English=25) test scores as set by the National Society of Professional Engineers; 
  • Be a citizen of the United States and a permanent resident of the State of Ohio.

First-year students are required to attend every MEP Study Table

Second-year students are only required to attend one MEP Study Table but have the option to attend others if need be. 

Juniors and Seniors have the option to tutor. If so, fill out the link below.

     Juniors and Seniors, please fill out this Google form to see what engagement opportunities are coming up soon! This would be a great way to maintain good standing within MEP. Be sure to work on and complete your end-of-the-semester reflections if you haven't already!

HRL is now recruiting Resident Assistants (RAs) and Neighborhood Fellows (Fellows) to apply for mid-year hires (starting January 2025) and the 2025-2026 academic year.

Details about the application process can be found on the HRL Jobs site and applications have gone live on November 1st. 

Interested in learning more? Join the HRL team for one of the upcoming Open House programs where staff will be hosting some fun fall activities and meeting with prospective applicants to share more about our various job opportunities. Check out the events below and we hope to see you there!

  • November 19 -   8:00 pm - 9:00 pm in 343 East Stewart Gardens Lounge -  Join the ESG RA staff for pizza and board games and learn more about the opportunities to work in HRL! 
  • November 13 -   6:00 pm - 7:30 pm in 461 Kiefaber - Join the Neighborhood Team for Pizza and Puzzles and talk more about the multiple job opportunities available in HRL!
