Stewardship in Action: HRL Polo Shirts
The University of Dayton has always maintained a heart of stewardship as we strive to care for what has been entrusted to us as an organization, whether physcially, emotionally, spiritually, or financially.
This year, as we navigate new financial challenges in this COVID-era, we are asking all returning staff members to help us put this value of stewardship into action by re-using your provided HRL polos from past years. Indivudals who are new to the team or are unable to re-use their polos due to loss or damage will still be able to receive new ones once the Department is approved to make the purchase.
Submit Your COVID Questions
On Tuesday, August 11 all staff will be invited to participate in a Training Session; COVID: Community Health and Returning to UD, with members from the PATH forward team, the team charged with taking the lead on decision-making, delegation, and implementation as it pertains to UD's Safe Return. To help moderate this conversation in a meaningful way, we invite you to submit your questions and concerns about returning to campus in this COVID-era, health and safety strategies, and/or UD's approach to navigating and managing COVID-response.
As a reminder, much information has already been provided on UD's PATH forward website, as well as on the HRL: Training site on Isidore and we encourage you to spend some time reviewing these resources in advance as well, to determine what questions may still remain unanswered.
Please submit any and all questions by Monday, August 10 at 1:00pm so that we can provide them to the facilitators in advance:
LISTEN
'1619' A Podcast from the NY Times which shares, as an audio series, how slavery has transformed America, connecting past and present through the oldest form of storytelling.
WATCH And Then They Came For Us tells the story of Presidential Executive Order 9066, that led to the unconstitutional forced incarceration of 120,000 Japanese Americans during the Second World War. It also brings history into the present, following Japanese American activists as they speak out against the Muslim registry and travel ban.
READ A Beautiful Ghetto, by Devin Allen, documents the 2015 Baltimore uprising in response to the police shooting of Freddie Gray, capturing the life of his city and the people who live there, as well as hope and beauty doing battle against a system that sows desperation and fear, and above all, resistance, to the unrelenting pressures of racism and poverty in a twenty-first-century American city.
