From: AVIATE Housing and Residence Life Date: August 26, 2024 Subject: This Month in AVIATE
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
ONLY opportunities that are listed on the AVIATE page of 1850 are PATH-eligible. If you think you've done something for PATH but you haven't gotten a badge for it, it might be because it wasn't PATH-eligible and you should first check the AVIATE calendar of events.
Make sure you check every event to see if you are eligible to attend. Some events are open to only first year students, only to SYE and UDE students, or Open to All Students. If you attend a PATH-eligible event that isn't listed as being open to your housing classification (note that it is not based on your credit hours) then you will not receive PATH credit. Any badges earned for opporutnities that you were not eligible for will be removed during AVIATE audits and point finalization.
How do I know if I'm FYE, SYE or UDE?
FYE, SYE, and UDE are based on your housing classification and not your credit hours. That said, the easiest way to know which one you are is to think about where you live now, or where you will apply to live next year.
If you live in a first year community (Stuart, Marycrest, and in limited instances, Marianist FYE Floor) - You are a first year student by housing classification, and therefore can attend FYE events.
If you are currently living in a sophomore community (VWK, Marianist, South Quad, E. Stewart Gardens, and in some cases in Caldwell/Adele) - You are a second year student by housing classification, and therefore can attend events open to SYE.
If you currently live in housing for juniors and/or seniors - You are eligible to attend events open to UDE, or the Upper Division Experience.
KEY
(RR) Indicates that Registration is Required. Individuals placed on a Waitlist will be auto-promoted to the main list in the event that individuals cancel their registration. Additionally, students on the wait list may opt to go to the event still and form a line in the event that individuals "no show" and seats are available however this will be first-come, first-serve and at the discretion of the facilitators.
(1+) Indicates that the opportunity will be offered multiple times Events that are offered multiple times may only yield PATH credit once no matter how many times the student opts to attend.
(OG)
Indicates that the opportunity is ongoing Events are offered during an extended window of time that students can opt to engage in according to their individual availability.
FYE Only, FYE, SYE, UDE
Indicates the student cohorts that are eligible to participate. Eligibility is based on Housing Classification, not Credit Hours. Students who attend events that they are not eligible for will not receive PATH credit and will have any PATH issued, removed, when discovered during routine PATH audits. FYE = First Year Students, SYE = Second Year Students, UDE = Juniors and Seniors
