I was born and raised in Gallup, New Mexico, and worked my way to Dayton via Houston, Texas. I have been an educator, coach, and mentor for 20+ years. After playing collegiate soccer, I coached for nine years at the college and high school levels. Prior to my time at UD I was a teacher for 20 years in US history, World History, and United States Government. As a family, we enjoy volunteering and serving our community, and to that end my wife I helped found a Kiwanis Club to help those in our community that suffer from lack of housing, access to food, or joblessness. Christine and I have been married (almost 22) years and have two wonderful kids: Ethan, who is in his first year at UD, and Alessandra, a Junior in high school.
Being part of the UD community for the past year has been incredible. My wife is a UD alum and I was always amazed by how welcoming and warm the university has been to people of all walks of life. Having the opportunity to work with future educators through the Lalanne program has been extremely rewarding as we look to help Catholic schools through our service. Every day Lalanne teachers lean into their calling to teach and lead, while also honoring and sharing their faith.
