Interested in learning more about the Resident Assistant (RA) and/or Neighborhood Fellow (Fellow) positions? Join us for a brief information session where current professional, graduate, and undergraduate staff members will share more about what it means to serve in these student leadership positions, review the details of the application process, and work to answer any questions you may have.
Information Sessions will be offered on the following dates and times:
- Tuesday, October 13 at 7:00pm - 8:00pm
- Wednesday, October 21 at 3:30pm - 4:30pm
- Monday, November 9 at 6:00pm - 7:00pm
- Thursday, November 19 at 4:30pm- 5:30pm
The recruitment process begins October 1 with positions going live on Handshake. The process will conclude in February of 2021 when all candidates are notified electronically of their status.
Minimum eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at the start of employment (to be an RA)
- Must be enrolled as a full-time junior or senior (or graduate student*) at the start of employment (to be a Fellow)
- Must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher at the time of application
- Must be in good standing with the university at established start date of employment
- Must be able to commit to a full academic year of service to position (this excludes any individuals hired for mid-year position vacancies) and not be enrolled in student teaching, a paid co-op, or study abroad if a new staff member.
- Must be able to negotiate class schedule to accommodate weekly staff meetings held Tuesdays 8:30pm-10:30pm
- Must be able to attend all mandatory summer and winter break trainings (see details on page 11)
- Must be able to negotiate class schedule to accommodate EDC 402 course during the first fall semester of employment (see details on page 12)
All staff members are required to live in university housing in their assigned residential area and abide by the University Standards of Behavior and Code of Conduct. HRL staff members select their own roommates (when roommates are necessary to fill spaces in their assignment).
