We hope your week is going well!
There are so many awesome updates to share with you, as a member of Students for University Advancement, so we thought we'd send an email with all of the updates readily available!
#1 - SUA All-Member meeting dates have been selected. Here's our schedule:
-
Monday, October 4 at 8:00 pm, Humanities 109: Our first official all-member meeting of the school year!
-
Monday, October 18 at 8:00 pm, KU 331: This meeting is optional, but your attendance is highly recommended, as we'll be working with members of the University Advancement staff to plan for One Day, One Dayton (giving day) which happens in April! This is a great chance to lend your skills and expertise to our initial planning efforts!
-
Monday, October 25 at 8:00 pm, KU 211
-
Monday, November 8 at 8:00 pm, KU 211
-
Monday, November 15 at 8:00 pm, Humanities 109: This meeting is tentative, as we may or may not need it for Donor Appreciation Week planning. (We'll share more details about Donor Appreciation Week soon, by the way!)
-
Monday, December 6 at 8:00 pm, KU 331: This will serve as our last all-member meeting of the semester!
If you haven't received a G-cal invite to these meetings but would like to, please let Emily Gamble '14, one of our advisors know, and she'll get you added to those invites!
We also highly encourage all members to invite their roommates/friends to come along with them to an SUA meeting! We're always looking for new members!
#2 - Looking for on-campus employment? Look no further! The University Advancement team has a program that they call "Telefund," which is essentially a calling program where student employees call alumni, parents and friend of UD to encourage their engagement with the University, as well as their participation in giving financial resources to things like scholarships, academic programs and more. The job is remote, so you can complete your shifts from the comfort of your dorm room, apartment, house, etc.! You could make up to $10.70/hour, receive tuition assistance and you even get to make your own schedule. To learn more or apply, you can scan the QR code on the attached flyer or visit dayton.theengagementcenter.com. If you have questions, please feel free to also reach out to Emily Gamble, as she oversees the program. (Be sure to also share this with your friends who you know are looking for on-campus employment!)
#3 - Suicide Prevention Week is next week, September 27 - October 3. The week is extremely important to our community and it's a great reminder that you are NOT alone and today is the day to never give up. As advisors, Emily and Carly highly recommend and encourage all of us to participate in the week's activities and events, including Send Silence Packing on Monday, September 27 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm at KU Field/Central Mall.
Please note: If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health concerns or is considering self injury or harm, there is help available. Emily and Carly are always here to support us, so please feel free to reach out to them or another member of UD faculty/staff to find resources.

We hope the rest of your week goes well and look forward to seeing you soon! Remember, you belong here!
