Each year National Philanthropy Day (Nov. 15) inspires UD's Donor Appreciation Week (DAW), a celebration of Flyer philanthropy.
As SUA members and current UD students, we know our experiences are fueled by donor gifts: Last year, $6.4 million in donor-funded scholarships were awarded and 25 new donor-funded scholarships were endowed, making the UD experience more transformative for all students.
Donors can give any amount to any area of UD they choose — scholarships, academic and athletic programs, the student organizations they were involved in during their time at UD, etc. — and those gifts add up to make a tremendous impact for our community.
That's why we're asking all of our Students for University Advancement members to help us say thank you to the donors who have made our UD experience possible! Here's how you can get involved:
- Help us paint the windows of the Hangar on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 3 pm. During this time you can also help Katie Bardine, our Marketing & Communications Chair, with our DAW video for social media! Sign up for both opportunities here!
- As Brendan shared at our meeting on Nov. 8, our SUA goal is to write 85 thank you notes this year. Let's push ourselves to beat last year's count (72 notes)!
- If each member writes 5 thank you notes, we'll pass our goal easily!
- Currently, we only have TWO SUA notes written!
- Thank you notes can be written any time between now and Nov. 19:
- You can write your notes virtually at your.udayton.edu/donorweek.
- You can write your notes during our tabling hours in KU Lobby (near ABP) Monday, Nov. 15 - Nov. 17 from 11 am - 2 pm. To help with table hours, sign up here!
- PATH programming:
- You can participate in our self-guided distance opportunity, "Philanthropy: Why Is It Important at a Place like UD," and earn your PATH point. See the details at the end of this email.
- You can volunteer during our live Zoom opportunity, "Maintaining a Lifelong Relationship with UD," on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 pm and earn your PATH point. Contact Emily, our advisor, for more information, or find details below.
- Share the details of our Donor Appreciation Week plans with your friends, roommates and peers! You can use these social media images or pass along this flyer. The more we share the details with our fellow Flyers, the quicker we can show our gratitude to all of the amazing donors who support UD as new members of the 1850 Society!
